(One sided) one night stand ode.

The taste left in your mouth, very hazarding for the first instance
But later in the day you would beg for more.
In this temper, in such way.
Drawing the heart shaped marks on his chest
The consequences of staying late in the night
Down the street, below the light pole.
Or in the heat of the summer, in the breeze of the ocean.
Below the night stars shining on, against the tide.
Don’t think he cares
Don’t think he’s beginning you back
Don’t think he’d search for you
He’s too jaded to sleep
Hung over from the night before.
He’ll follow the lonely highway and go with the wind.
And when the ocean hits his feet he won’t think twice.
He’s not coming back
The letter he sent you remains in your handbag, I can tell,
But your lipstick marked on his shirt and your cologne is long gone in the sea
He would be walking shirtless and wet
But don’t think he cares.
He’s everywhere you want him to be for you
He’s the person you look for in someone else,
To be everything you wanted him to be.
And tonight when you search for him on his bedside
You’ll see a lucky gentleman, waiting to be loved like you.
